I am very saddened each and every time I hear about a so-called “honor” killing not only because of the lives that are so needlessly taken, but because the image of Islam also takes a needless hit as the bigots and racists will spare no opportunity to try to sully the name of Islam.
The brother of the two sisters murdered said
“It’s not religion. It’s something else. Religion has nothing to do with it.”
Sadly, that will not stop them from trying to paint us all as approving of such a horrendous act and acting as if this is a mandate in Islam.
There is no place for an “honor” killing in our beautiful way of life

Dishonor killings are believed to have their origins in misinterpretations of pre-Islamic Arab tribal codes. They pre-date Islam by centuries and, in fact, are un-Islamic.
Nonetheless, to one with experience in these matters, it is obvious the murders of the beautiful Said sisters in suburban Dallas were dishonor killings.
